In an attempt to find suitable targets for excavation and in particular to resolve the puzzle of the direction and course of the water outlet from the mill structure, we managed to borrow some resistivity equipment for a geophysical survey of likely area of the garden. Thanks are due to member Mike Gill who negotiated the loan of the equipment from the Avon Valley Archaeological Society (AVAS) and who set it up and instructed TCA members in its use. We had a fascinating afternoon and have some interesting results to mull over.
