Resitivity Results

ImageMember Mike Gill has processed the results from resistivity surveys of three areas in the gardens at Little Millhams.  The image shows the results from an area about 10 m square in the lower garden, where we have been trying to find the outlet channel, or tailrace, of the mill.  The processed data appears to indicate a distinct edge running diagonally across the plots, between low resistance (blue) and a relatively higher resistance patch (tending towards red).

We are uncertain as to whether this is an indication of archesology/ geology at the depths where the mill remains are found (1.5 m, say), or whether this inidcates a surface feature.  However, it provides some guidance for future trial pits.
