Member Mike Gill has processed the results from resistivity surveys of three areas in the gardens at Little Millhams. The image shows the results from an area about 10 m square in the lower garden, where we have been trying to find the outlet channel, or tailrace, of the mill. The processed data appears to indicate a distinct edge running diagonally across the plots, between low resistance (blue) and a relatively higher resistance patch (tending towards red).
We are uncertain as to whether this is an indication of archesology/ geology at the depths where the mill remains are found (1.5 m, say), or whether this inidcates a surface feature. However, it provides some guidance for future trial pits.
